  • A shaker
  • Jigger
  • Citrus juicer
  • Chilled cocktail glasses (a champagne coupe or classic martini glass work best for this simple and civilized sip)

Classic Lime Daiquiri

One of the simplest and most elegant summery cocktails to prepare, best served in a pre-chilled cocktail glass. This is a simple serve for one but it is easy to multiple out for additional guests. Having your freshly squeezed lime juice and sugar syrup ready will save you time.

The 'classic daiquiri' calls for 9 parts rum to 4 parts lime one part sugar/sugar syrup.

Prep Time 2 minutes
Total Time 2 minutes


  • 45ml white rum
  • 20ml fresh lime juice
  • 5ml simple sugar syrup
  • Cubed ice for shaking
  • Optional lime for Garnish


  1. Squeeze lime into your shaker
  2. Stir in the sugar syrup
  3. Add rum and ice
  4. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  5. Add a thinly slice of lime to garnish


There are loads of flavour variations for a daiquiri - simply start with rum, lime juice and sugar and keep experimenting!
