Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri

A frozen strawberry daiquiri in a sugar rimmmed amrgarita style cocktail glass

A wonderfully rewarding and tasty summer delight. It needs a little more preparation time than a Classic Daiquiri as you will need to do some cutting and blending not simply shaking, but it makes for a light, refreshing and fruity treat on a hot summers day.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500g hulled strawberries
  • 200g ice
  • 100ml rum
  • Juice from 1/2 a lime
  • 10ml sugar syrup (optional)
  • For garnish
  • 1 strawberry sliced
  • 2 slices of lime
  • 2 cocktail sticks

Instructions

  1. Place hulled strawberries in your blender
  2. Put resulting puree through a sieve to remove some of the seeds then blend again
  3. Add the ice, rum and lime juice to the blender
  4. Pour into two tall cocktail glasses
  5. To garnish, place your sliced lime and strawberry on the glass rim

Notes

It's a good idea to do a taste test at the puree stage. If it tastes a little bit bitter, consider adding an extra teaspoon of sugar syrup to the strawberries to sweeten the taste.

You can serve in a classic coupe cocktail glass, margarita-style cocktail glass or in a tall glass. For that perfect sugared rim, simply rub some lime on the rim of the glass and place in a saucer of sugar, spin around until the edge is coated.
