What better way to enjoy summer vibes than sipping on a sweet, icy daiquiri.
National Daiquiri Day is 19 July 2021.
A US drinks celebration day, but no excuse not to mark the occasion around the world by coming up with your very own icy daiquiri concoction.
As well as the classic lime daiquiri (one of the Mama Loves favourites!) there are plenty of frozen and iced versions of the daiquiri that are equally delightful to enjoy on a summer’s day. Here we’ll share with you a selection of shaker, blender and even Thermomix recipes you can try for National Daiquiri Day (or frankly any day that deserves a cool rum treat!)

How to make a daiquiri
Daiquiri’s fall into two distinct categories – the “classic” three-ingredient Lime Daiquiri (with different rum variations), or the much sweeter frozen daiquiri camp. The later is what most associate the name daiquiri with these days as they can add a coloufrul and fruity touch to your garden party, but we’ll be honest, we do love the classic!
Here are some of the tools you may need for making those beauitful summery daiquiri cocktails:
- A good blender (or Thermomix – more below!)
- A juice squeezer
- Jigger
- Cocktail muddler
- Elegant glassware – take your pick between classic stemmed glasses such as a martini glass or champagne coupe or an old fashioned glass for your exceptionally icy daiquiris!
